But who’s counting? (Hint: I am.)
So come late July, I will be getting on a real, live plane going ACROSS AN OCEAN and landing in Europe! I’m about to cry from all this excitement.
In other news, I have paid my tuition (*sigh*), bought my plane tickets (*expensive sigh*), and registered for classes (don’t even talk to me about textbook prices), which makes me think this whole thing is ACTUALLY HAPPENING. If you want to know more about what classes I’ll be taking, please ask. PLEASE. I’m actually so excited that it hurts- something I never thought I’d say about classes.
Just to give you all a little overview of what I’m actually doing in 56 days, I’ll give you a brief little synopsis of my plan—
As a token of appreciation to my oh-so-beautiful mother, we have all come together to provide her with a trip abroad as well! She and my godmom, AJ, will be heading over to Paris for a few days in late July, then seeing the beautiful Italy, and then my mom and I will head over to Germany to frolic inside a few castles and all around the castle grounds, too. In fact, we’ll probably frolic everywhere we go. I bet you’re all just so excited for these pictures.
After she leaves me and I get over my initial sadness and dry my tears of heartache, I’ll meander on over to Rome and meet up with quite possibly my favorite roommate ever and we’ll kick it old school in Rome for a few days. Then hop on a train, stare out the window and take a few obnoxious selfies before arriving in Interlaken, Switzerland! (Editor’s note: Grandma and Mom- you might want to stop reading these next few sentences.) In Interlaken, we’ll be roughing it (okay, not really, but kind of.) in a tent village. We also may or may not (we are) be doing this—
Mom and Grandma, you can start reading again. Then we’ll do some hiking (Harder Kulm–coming for ya!) and soak in what just might be the most gorgeous views I’ll ever see. After Interlaken, we’re off to Amsterdam! Yes, we are going to rent bikes and go to the Red Light District and be totally tourist-y. Sue me. Then we’ll fly to Belfast, Northern Ireland to see things like this. We plan on doing a little cliff jumping (AKA Coasteering), too. After Ireland, we’ll pop down to London and spend our final days together exploring the city!
Then Sarah will head back across the pond and I’ll go my own way for 110 days until I return back to FL on December 8th.
So for the next 56 days, I’ll be here. Working 50+ hours a week and daydreaming about this amazing opportunity. In my free time, I’ll be on Pinterest obsessively staring at pictures of places I’ve only dreamed of, but in just a few months, will be standing in front of.
It all seems so surreal. I still can’t believe it. I probably won’t believe it until I’m sitting on the ship somewhere in the Atlantic, staring out at the ocean and, quite literally, living out my dreams.
